Alan Cransberg

Alan Cransberg is a prominent Australian businessman and former Australian rule footballer who chaired the West Coast Eagles AFL team.

Mr Cransberg graduated from the University of WA with an honours degree in civil engineering, following which he joined Alcoa in various roles including a stint in the USA. During his 36 year tenure, Mr Cransberg was involved in managing mining, refining, smelting and technology activities in Australia before continuing his career in the US with responsibility for global metals manufacturing. He returned to Australia in 2008 as managing director of Alcoa Australia and president of global refining before retiring in 2016.

Mr Cransberg has also served in leadership positions on a number of boards including the Wirrpanda Foundation and Corporation, Black Swan State Theatre Company, John Swire and Sons, the UWA Business School, SAS Resources Trust, Ace Mining Solution and Wesfarmers.

He was a founding director of The Foundation for the Prevention of Violence Against Women and Their Children (now ‘Our Watch’), a founding member of the CEOs For Gender Equity, and has extensive experience and a passion for projects to improve gender equity.


John Perry OAM

John grew up in Mandurah and then boarded at Aquinas College for six years. At the conclusion of his schooling, he completed the Real Estate Valuation Course at W.A.I.T., now Curtin University. Joining the family real estate business, founded in 1950 by Harry and Nancy Perry, John managed the firm for over forty years during which time he coordinated the development and marketing of over 1,600 residential lots at the family landholdings being Florida Beach, Dawesville and Madora Bay.

President of the Mandurah Chamber of Commerce

Chairman of the Peel Health Foundation

State REIWA Councillor representing the South West

President of the fundraising committee to rebuild St Patrick’s Cathedral, Bunbury

Recently John and his wife, Bella, co-founded the John & Bella Perry Foundation to donate to local registered charities. John was recognised in the 2021 Queen’s Birthday honours by being awarded an Order of Australia Medal. Now retired, his interests include travel and conducting a small farm at East Coolup. 


Paul Fitzpatrick

Mr Fitzpatrick was born and bred in the Peel Region and is a descendant of a pioneering family since 1893. As a graduate of the UWA Advanced School of Management Program and the Australian Institute of Company Directors Paul brings a range of skills as a Company Director from a broadly based and diverse background with an emphasis on strategic planning that he acquired over 35 years of expertise in international business development and marketing in both the public and private sector.

He co-founded the international award winning ‘smart house’ technology, the Smart Company of Australia in 1993. In 2001 Paul returned to the Peel region to develop a lifestyle olive farm where he founded Farmstead Technology, a R&D company that specialised in innovative smart farm technology. Paul was elected to the Waroona Shire Council in 2002, serving 2 of his 7 years as Shire President. He was appointed to the board of Community First International as Deputy Chair in 2007 to 2010.

Paul was appointed to the Board of the Peel Development Commission in 2012 and Chairman of the Commission from 2014 to 2017.  He also served on the CY O’Connor Foundation Board from 2017 to 2020, and as the inaugural Chair of the Stronger Families Foundation. A keen golfer Paul also served as President of the Mandurah Country Club from 2013 to 2016.

Dr Sue Fyfe - Chair

Dr Sue Fyfe is a consultant in social research and community development, tertiary education and evaluation who is currently supporting the work of Peel Says No to Violence. Sue has a strong background in academic research and leadership with over 30 years’ experience in university, not for profit and government roles. Sue specializes in public health and educational research and development, focusing on social issues as well as public health, disability, health services and educational research in tertiary health sciences. She is a long term resident of the Peel region, with strong connections with community across the region and in her home town of Dwellingup. She is committed to building strong, resilient communities with equal opportunity and educational opportunities for all.

Mark O’Hare - Deputy Chair

Mark O’Hare is the Operations Manager at Stopping Family Violence (SFV), the Peak Body for perpetrator response work in WA. He has a wealth of experience in working in Mens Behaviour Change Programs, Violent Offender Treatment Programs, Sex Offender Treatment Programs and working with Men with AOD issues. Previous to working in the FDV sector, Mark has facilitated Drug and Alcohol group programs, and specialised in mens groups and working with adolescents who use substances. Mark has held a number of positions in government including a specialised FDV Coordinator and consultant roles with WA Department of Justice which involved providing specialist FDV consultancy to the Department and supporting community based MBCPs.

After holding managerial positions in the Department of Justice including Director of Offender Programs, he commenced SFV and has since been working in the areas of policy, training, research and advocacy to support WA systems and practice change to become more FDV Informed. Mark Chaired the MBCP Network and MBCP Peer Practitioner Forum for a number of years and continues to sit on a number of Network and Steering committees including the Family Law Pathways Network and Healthy Relationships Strategy Group. Mark is also a fully certified trainer in the Safe and Together Training and has delivered the CORE and Supervisors training across Australia.

Geoff Hart-Davies - Founder & CEO

Born and educated in Melbourne, Geoff is an experienced mariner and businessman with extensive naval, public and private sector experience gained both nationally and internationally.   He has held roles in operational, strategic and senior line management across a wide range of disciplines with positions including ship command, national and international company directorship and board membership.

A graduate of the Royal Australian Naval College, Geoff served at sea in a wide range of ships, and ashore both nationally and internationally.  He holds tertiary business and maritime, and post graduate management and counselling qualifications and square rigged sailing ship command endorsement.  His community service has included senior leadership roles in a wide range of community organisations including the RSL and Australian Volunteer Coast Guard. 


Jackie Hart-Davies - Founder & Member

Born and educated in the UK, Jackie is an experienced small and medium sized business owner and operator.

Emigrating to Australia in 1977, she has acquired extensive experience owning and operating various business in the Interior Design industry incorporating manufacturing, retail & importing of products for her Australian & overseas clients.

Together with husband Geoff, Jackie co founded Stronger Families a NFP organisation out of a sincere desire to address the root causes of family and domestic violence after experiencing the profound effect of FDV on family members and close friends.  

Jackie & her husband live in the Peel region and continue to work to ensure that Stronger Families can provide the Caring Dads program to keep families safe.

David Cornwall – Treasurer

David Cornwall is a Director at BDR Business Accountants in Mandurah where he specialises in Business Advisory and Taxation. He has over 30 years’ experience in his profession and is passionate about helping businesses grow to their full potential.

David has lived in the Peel Region for most of his life and has seen the area grow from a number of small shires to the major regional centre that it is today. With this growth he has witnessed many positives but also a few negatives. The opportunity to be part of the Stronger Families Board, was embraced enthusiastically. He saw the strategies that were to be implemented at a community level and also the calibre of the other board members and saw this as a way to be part of something making a really positive difference in the Peel Region. His knowledge and experience in the areas of business structuring, governance and compliance are offered to compliment the other very experienced and highly qualified board members to achieve the Stronger Families Foundation aims.

Jade Creevey - Member

Jade is an experienced manager with a history of leading a large NFP organisation, and has a strong sense of community and corporate social responsibility. A long term local to the Peel Region, Jade has a passion for the region and is also a committee member for Regional Development Australia (Peel). Skilled in identifying funding opportunities, Jade is experienced in grant applications and acquittals, growth and business improvement strategies, developing and implementing strategic business plans, policies and procedures, stakeholder and personnel management. Jade has tertiary qualifications in Public Relations, Business Management and an MBA from Murdoch University.


Allan Salmon - Member

Born and raised on a sheep and cattle property in Margaret River, Allan spent the majority of his working life as an HR professional with extensive experience in the private, public and not for profit sectors. Returning to university in mid life, Allan studied law and has since worked extensively in the Community Legal system in both Bunbury and the Peel region, in addition to establishing and managing his own legal firm.

Allan has a long standing desire to assist those less fortunate, and consequently has served on a number of NPO Boards including Bindi Inc (Alice Springs), and Advocacy SW (Bunbury), both of which provided support services for physically and mentally disadvantaged people.

A life time classic car aficionado, Allan now resides in Falcon where he divides his time between providing community legal services and rebuilding and maintaining his E Type Jaguar and 1934 BSA saloons.

Founded by Geoff and Jackie Hart-Davies, Stronger Families was inspired through personal awareness of the trauma and suffering experienced as a result of family and domestic violence, and is dedicated to the memory of Josene Anne Corey.
