Programs & Pathway
Stronger Families is committed to creating positive, lasting change by addressing the root causes of relationship and behavioural challenges.
Overview of the Pathway
The Stronger Families Pathway is grounded in principles of collaboration, continuity, and tailored intervention.
Our Stronger Families Pathway brings together the core programs (The Ripple Project, Steps Towards Caring, Caring Dads, and Strengthening Families) to deliver a holistic, trauma-informed journey toward safety, stability, and stronger family relationships. Each program addresses a specific area of family wellbeing, supporting individuals to take accountability, develop healthier behaviours, and build stronger, safer relationships.
This connected framework empowers families at every stage of their journey.
Core Programs
An innovative, experiential, and universal primary prevention initiative designed to equip adolescent boys (13–17) with practical skills for respectful relationships.
A foundational program that prepares participants for group work and supports them in identifying personal goals, safety needs, and capacity for change. (Referrals to this program are through WA Police only)
A 17-week group-based intervention supporting fathers to develop safer parenting practices and take responsibility for past harmful behaviours.
A wraparound, trauma-informed therapeutic program providing separate and dedicated support to mothers and children, running independently but in alignment with Caring Dads.
Pre (and Post) Group Support
To ensure long-term progress, the pathway includes dedicated supports before and after participation in group programs:
Pre-Group Support
One-on-one consultations help participants who haven’t completed Steps Towards Caring prepare for group work, including safety planning and goal setting.
Post-Group Support
Ongoing counselling, follow-up meetings, and community referrals help participants sustain progress and build on positive changes after group programs conclude.
Core Principles of the Pathway
1. Continuity of Care
Smooth transitions between programs ensure consistent, responsive support throughout a participant’s journey.
2. Collaborative Approach
Regular case management and integrated service planning align support across teams and programs.
3. Client-Centred Services
Programs are tailored to meet participants where they are, with flexibility to adapt to individual goals and life circumstances.
4. Outcome-Driven Practice
Evidence-based assessments help measure progress, drive accountability, and ensure effectiveness across the pathway.
Expected Outcomes
Improved Parenting Practices
Fathers adopt healthier, non-violent parenting strategies, reducing harm to children and co-parents.
Enhanced Emotional Wellbeing
Mothers and children experience increased resilience and safety through access to trauma-informed therapeutic support.
Reduced Recidivism

Stronger Family Units
With holistic support, families are better equipped to heal and thrive together in nurturing environments.
