Stronger Families has been recognised with one of the region’s most significant honours, taking home the ALCOA Business of the Year Award in the Charities and Not-For-Profit category at last weekend’s gala event. While awards are never the goal of our work, this recognition speaks to the impact our organisation continues to have across the community. Work made possible by a team deeply committed to helping families thrive.
On the night, the award was accepted by Founders Geoff and Jackie Hart-Davies, as well as Chair of the Board, Owen Mulder, who represented the entire Stronger Families team. Their presence on stage symbolised the collective dedication of staff, volunteers and partners who contribute to this mission every day.
This achievement is not simply a moment of celebration; it is a reflection of the trust families place in us, the courage of those who walk through our doors seeking support, and the everyday efforts of a team who approaches their work with compassion, integrity and determination. It represents a moment of reflection on the real impact Stronger Families continues to make across the region: helping families strengthen connections, navigate challenges, and build healthier futures.
The recognition serves as a testament to the organisation’s long-standing belief that when families are supported, communities become stronger. For Stronger Families, this award affirms what we already know: that real change happens when people feel supported, listened to and understood. It is a testament to the countless stories of resilience we have witnessed, and to the belief that every family deserves the chance to build a stronger, safer future.
We extend our gratitude to ALCOA for this honour, and to our community partners who continue to walk alongside us. Most importantly, we acknowledge our extraordinary staff. This achievement belongs to all of you.
As we celebrate this milestone, Stronger Families remains firmly committed to our purpose — strengthening connections, supporting families, and helping create the conditions for lasting change.
