Stronger Families has been awarded the tender by WA Police to deliver the Caring Dads program across the Perth metropolitan region, expanding the program’s reach beyond its successful delivery in the Binjareb region.
Caring Dads is a 17-week, evidence-based program designed to support fathers who have used violence or coercive control to become safe, respectful, and emotionally engaged parents. Grounded in accountability and trauma-informed practice, the program aims to prevent family and domestic violence (FDV) and improve outcomes for children and families.
Geoff Hart-Davies, CEO of Stronger Families, said expanding Caring Dads into Perth is a vital step in addressing FDV across Western Australia:
“We’ve seen firsthand the difference Caring Dads can make in helping fathers change their behaviour and rebuild trust with their families. Being able to offer this program in the Perth metropolitan area means we can reach more families, earlier, and that’s how we break the cycle of violence.”
This expanded service reflects a shared commitment between Stronger Families and WA Police to create safer homes and stronger communities by intervening early and supporting lasting change.
